Romanian was granted the status of regional language in Tyachiv district.
This decision was adopted by Tyachiv District Council on December 4 at the first plenary meeting of the 17th session.
As representatives of Tyachiv District Council reported to the publication Zaholovok.com.ua, during the consideration of the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On the Principles of State Language Policy" in Tyachiv district, there was not much discussion, the decision to grant Romanian the status of regional language was adopted by the majority of deputies.
In addition, the District Council noted that the law "On the Principles of State Language Policy" should have been effective in Tyachiv district automatically as the number of the Romanian population in the district is more than 10%.
Currently, the decision of Tyachiv District Council has been sent to government agencies for responding.
