Famous Transcarpathian painter, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Taras Usyk celebrated his anniversary in September.

On 6th of December at 16.00, his personal exhibition "My church" dedicated to the celebration of his 55th anniversary opens in the "Uzhgorod" gallery.

Taras Usyk is the son of the famous painter Stepan Usyk.

He started his career at the end of the 80s of the twentieth century. He is an architect by training.

Art historian H.Ryzhova describes his work as follows, "Taras’s works are similar to jazz improvisations – in tensed and saturated sound of colors you can hear sonorous singing of trumpet and trombone, scattered crystal sound of the piano, plaintive tenderness of saxophone."

Taras Usyk himself calls his style of painting "an ordered abstraction." "I think that an unprepared viewer can sometimes get lost in the boundless world of abstraction, so I try to give a viewer the smallest hook, the smallest straw or a path to the normal real world" – Taras Usyk says.

The works of the author can be seen on the 6th of December and during the next two weeks.

The admission to the opening is free.
