Flu affects mostly children (Statistics)

As the head of the epidemic monitoring and sanitary protection department of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service in Transcarpathian region Victoria Dordyay informed, according to the weekly monitoring of the incidence of acute respiratory and viral infections, on the 48th week, the epidemic situation in Transcarpathian region remains normal. The incidence corresponds to usual for the season figures (18.1 per 10 thousand people) and is 2.5 times lower than epidemic threshold.

During the week, 2233 cases of complaints about influenza and SARS have been registered, which is 2% lower compared to the previous week (2684 cases). 

69% of the cases are children under 17 years (1554 persons).

126 people have been hospitalized (6% of the total of cases), including 105 children under 17, representing 83.0% of all hospitalized.

Since the beginning of the epidemic season, 2415 vaccinations against influenza have been conducted in the region.
