Children stay in a charity home in Vynogradiv for free

For 15 years now, foreign sponsors have been maintaining the St. Teresa charity home for children with disabilities in Vynogradiv. Parents pay nothing for their children staying in it. This institution was founded in 1998 by the religious community of Roman Catholic church in Vynogradiv in order to create the right conditions for complex and individual sessions with children with disabilities.

Every day disabled children from Vynogradiv and surrounding villages come to the St. Teresa charitable home for disabled children. They are brought from Verbovets, Fanchikovo, Oleshnyk and Lemokovytsya. They, like no one else, need communication, treatment and individual training, which is attended by 8 students.

During this year, 61 children have received a set of rehabilitation services. They are admmitted to the rehabilitation ward based on the application of parents and medical conclusion of the clinic paediatric department.   Diagnoses are cerebral palsy, autism, mental retardation, birth defects of the brain, paralysis of upper and lower extremities.

Pre-school department is attended by 11 children aged three to nine years. All of them have some mental development disorders, but they have the opportunity to participate in games, be engaged in manual labor, sing, dance.

Young patients receive massage, physiotherapy.

Diagnoses of children, whom foreign benefactors take care of, are incurable, but it is much easier for them to be in a group than at home within four walls. Moreover, twice a month, and during the summer holidays they travel throughout our region – to Mukachevo and Uzhgorod castles, Beregovo museum, ostrich and deer farms in Khust, or just to the shore of our Tisa.
