Yesterday, around 19.20, Uzhgorod police officers, during the operational and preventive operation "Guns and explosives", near the house number 8 on Borkanyuk street, stopped a 48-year-old previously convicted resident of the city. He "voluntarily", according to the policemen, took out of his jacket pocket and handed over an "F-1" type grenade of the Second World War period covered with corrosion and cartridges of 5.45 mm caliber in quantity of 17 pieces. The cartridges and the grenade were confiscated. As the man explained, he had found the grenade and ammunition in the trash container on Mytna street.
