Water has returned to Chop

October 11, at Chop City Council there was a working meeting with the mayor of the city, the main issue at which was the situation of water supply in the city. As you know, due to heavy rains that occured last week across Transcarpathia, excessive water turbidity in the Latorica river was recorded. In this regard, separated subdivision "Uzhgorod water supply distance" of the "Lviv Railway" notified Chop City Council about restriction of water supply to the city. During this period, water was supplied to the city residents according to defined schedule – Chop City Council reported.

        During the meeting, it was noted that the problem of water supply was caused by natural factors. Thus, last week, the water level in the Latorica river near Chop went up from the usual 1.6 to 4.3 meters, because of slime in the city water system. As of November 9, water supply in Chop has been restored.
