National Road Safety Week affected Irshava district too

As part of the National Road Safety Week, during the week, officers of Irshava District Traffic Police Department will conduct activities codenamed "Pedestrian", "Drunk driver is a criminal" and "Safe speed".

The operation "Pedestrian" will be held from 11 to 12 of November. Its main objective is to reduce the number of accidents involving pedestrians. Sadly, many of our citizens cross streets in the wrong places, ignore traffic lights. Another important task is to make drivers let pedestrians cross streets at pedestrian crossings.

During only one of the operation "Pedestrian", Irshava district traffic policemen had to bring 10 people to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Art. 127 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements (violation of traffic rules by pedestrians, cyclists and persons who control the carting and teamsters), which provides for a warning or a fine ranging from three to five times the minimum income.

To avoid tragedies in the road, traffic policemen urge both drivers and pedestrians to respect each other and follow traffic rules – Vita Horzov, Irshava District Police reported.
