In Transcarpathia, they are cultivating the “royal” fish (PHOTOS)

For nearly six years, the Dancha family from the village of Bushtyno have been breeding the extremely valuable species of fish – sturgeon, also known as "the royal fish". The small fishery is the pride of not only the family, but also of the village because it has no analogues in the whole Transcarpathia, the Zelene Zakarpattya reported.
Mr. Vasyl has been fond of fishing since the times he worked in Siberia. Back then he was fishing sturgeon in natural waters. Later, when he saw a lake at his friend’s in the Czech Republic, he was very surprised that this extremely fastidious fish can live in artificial environments. Since then he has had an idea to do something similar at home.
He decided on a bold experiment: arranged 4 pools with appropriate filters and a heating system. Also he arranged the same facilities in the natural body of water – on the Mlynovytsya that runs near the house.

Reproduction causes many troubles. In the natural environment, the fish in search of a suitable place swims on long distances. And at the farm, they have to use artificial "milking" of eggs. Uninterrupted power supply is vital, because without oxygen the sturgeon dies in less than half an hour.
However, despite all the difficulties, the Dancha family business is gaining momentum. At present, there are enough fish at their fishery to supply the stores, restaurants and other outlets. In order to ensure proper conditions for sturgeon breeding, the farmer even cleared the pond in the park area. After that, carps and pikes reappeared in it, and local fishermen have even caught a trout. They also plan to bring to the reservoir white swans, which will ornament it.
