Today, Fedir Manaylo would have turned 103 years old (PHOTOS)

Today, Fedir Manaylo, the master of Transcarpathian school of painting, Honored and People’s Artist of Ukraine, would have turned 103 years old.

 He is known as one of the initiators of the Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Uzhgorod College of Applied Arts. Also. he was one of the first artists of the House of Folk Art, Transcarpathian Ukrainian Musical and Drama Theatre and the Philharmonic. He is also known as the artist of the famous film "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" (Parajanov). Fedir Manaylo revived the ancient folk art – decoration of melons.

By the way, if you are not familiar with the works of the master of Transcarpathian art, the memorial house-museum of the People’s Artist of Ukraine F. Manaylo, where he lived and worked not long ago, is situated on Drugety st., 74 in Uzhgorod.

There are nearly two thousand exhibits there.
