On Saturday, Sept. 28, the participants of the international competition "Friendship Cup – 2013" were competing near Orikhovytsi. 48 athletes of the elite category among men crossed the 17 kilometers route with 32 control points and a total climb of over 500 m. The winner was the participant of this year’s World Championship in Finland, in the recent past – the runner up of the world championship among juniors Ruslan Glebov from Dnipropetrovsk who finished a difficult route in 1:29.23. Pupils of Mukachevo SC "Tovarysh" Serhiy Babich and Dmytro Terpay finished the ninth and the eleventh, respectively, Yevhen Sirotov of Uzhgorod was the thirteenth.
Today, September 29, the "Friendship Cup" ends with competitions on medium distances in the "Shakhta" forest on the northern outskirts of Uzhgorod.
Recall, the international competition "Friendship Cup – 2013" and all-around championship of Ukraine, devoted to the 50th anniversary of sports orienteering, continue in Transcarpathia. This is the largest by number of participants and geographical coverage sporting event in the region, which is attended by nearly 700 representatives of 10 European countries and 24 regions of the country.
