Community activists met the solemn procession on the occasion of the Day of the City, which finished on Poshtova square. They decided to congratulate the city government in their own way by showing how citizens see the city everyday.
More than 10 large-format photographs depicted the sad realities of Uzhgorod: broken roads, out-of-order sidewalks, streets cluttered with advertising, and so on.
The organizers wanted to give a few photographs to the Mayor Victor Pogorelov and the Deputy Mayor on issues of architecture Yuri Belyakov. But, unfortunately, the municipality was not ready to take the gift. Bodyguards and policemen surrounded the Mayor, and the activists were forcibly stopped at the entrance. Neither activists nor journalists were let in the great hall, where the council currently continues. There were even outright fights…
Now, participants of the events are writing statements to the police and talk with law enforcement officers.
Meanwhile, the concert on Poshtova square continues…
