Attention at 14.00 – to Narodna square!

As you know, yesterday on Narodna square they began some works – delineating the territory with sticks and ropes. Chances are that it is about the reconstruction of the parterre park, which the community strongly oppose to.

As the social activist Yulia Dub wrote in facebook, now they announce that there will be a garden there.

"People, who are enthusiastically poking pegs in the ground on Narodna square, said that it would be a park and that they plan to finish in November. One of them was holding a plan of the future park. But I have a feeling that it is not a coincidence that this reconstruction began during the celebration of the 1120th anniversary of Uzhgorod. While Uzhgorod residents, especially activists, are busy organizing the Real Day of City, they will be making a "park" on Narodna square."

Also, local sites and social networks are full of outrageous messages about a sudden start of the reconstruction, which both conscious public and professional community have been and are opposing to. Reminder – the reconstruction project has not received the approval of the City Planning Council of Uzhgorod, thus the works are unauthorized. Last night, the chief architect of the region Mykola Pihulyak in the phone conversation told uzhgorod.in that he knew nothing about it.

At the 14.00 all concerned citizens gather on the square to discuss the situation and if possible to counteract the plans of the shocking reconstruction. If you love and respect your city – get involved!
