“The Real Day of the City” will celebrated on the 6 th of October!

"The Real Day of the City" will celebrated on the 6 event, the alternative celebration of the 1120th anniversary of Uzhgorod will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013.

"This is the first city festival in the history of Uzhgorod, organized by ordinary residents, to be held on October 6, 2013. Uzhgorod deserves a decent day of the city. Especially when it turns 1120. That’s why we decided to come together and organize a holiday – with our own efforts and with your support,"- the organizers wrote on their website.

The program will include a variety of holiday activities ranging from art events, bike race, city art fair, performances of musical artists.

"The Real Day of the City" was the result of interaction between civil society activists who decided to create their own celebration and with the support of residents of Uzhgorod. The festive day will begin with opening of the art “Yard Sale”, on Fentsyka square near the Philharmonic, a bike “Safe Ride” (from Night Ride), an “Open Tour” and performances of dance and music groups on Teatralna Square.

The celebration of the Real Day of the City will be concluded with a fire show on the river Uzh.
Currently, the committee is actively working on programming – not only with musicians, but also with 
a variety of artistic events, so that all interested persons had an opportunity to not only observe, but 
also to actively participate in all events.
