The Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region registered in the URPI and started pre-trial investigation of a criminal offense under Part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of unlawful benefit by an official) for soliciting and receiving illegal benefit by a Rakhiv lawyer.
Currently it has been established that the human rights activist demanded from a resident of Rakhiv district 5500 dollars for the assistance in releasing his son from criminal liability for committing the criminal offense investigated by the investigation department of Rakhiv District Police.
Last night, in a Rakhiv cafe offiicers of the Prosecutor’s office in Transcarpathian region together with officers of the department to fight corruption and organized crime of the Office of the Secirity Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region detained the lawyer "red-handed" when he was receiving the previously agreed amount of illegal benefit.
The suspect was arrested according to Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.
