In less than three weeks, Austrians, with the active support of local animal rights activists, managed to operate on 297 dogs in Uzhgorod. The "4 Paws" say that it is an excellent result for such a small town in such a period of time, Zelene Zakarpattya reported.
The administrator of the "4 Paws" organization Anastasia Maslo on behalf of all foreign volunteers expressed satisfaction with the process and results of the work in our city. Above all, she noted understanding and willingness to solve the issue of stray animals in civilized ways on the part of Uzhgorod community.
The administrator of the "4 Paws" also pointed out the active help of local animal protection organizations – "BARBOS" and "Help a Friend". "Uzhgorod volunteers participated in all kinds of work that we performed.They also coordinated one of the most important stages of our project – catching of animals. Since we are not from here, local animal rights activists developed plan of areas where there are many stray dogs."
As it was reported, on the second day of the project the "4 Paws" were joined by Uzhgorod private veterinarians. Unfortunately, the government ones have not expressed a desire to learn and share experiences with foreign specialists.
Recall that international animal rights activists arrived to Uzhgorod on August 20, thus, spending less than three weeks in the city, and on September 6, the GO "4 Paws" (VIER PFOTEN International) completed their work to reduce the number of stray dogs in Uzhgorod.
