Is Pokhylko being “driven out” of his position at the Chop customs?

The head of the Chop customs Oleksandr Pokhylko has been temporarily suspended from work. The relevant decree was signed by the Minister of Income last week. The customs office itself is being inspected by officers of the Ministry of income and taxes in Ukraine.

According to Zakarpattya online, the Minister of income and taxes of Ukraine Oleksandr Klimenko, who is believed to represent Donetsk region (he comes from the city of Makiyivka), is gradually removing customs personnel of the former head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Igor Kalyetnik, who headed the customs under the Communists quota.

However, these trends do not mean automatic dismissal of Oleksandr Pokhylko. For example, the head of Yagodin Customs Roman Mykytyuk in similar circumstances remained in office.

It is also believed that the resignation of O.Pokhylko is lobbied by MP from the Praty of Regions Ivan Bushko, whose media were quick to announce the event with a focus on the resignation of O.Pokhylko.

Oleksandr Pokhylko was re-appointed as the Head of the Chop customs by the Order of the Ministry of income and taxes of Ukraine dd. June 18, 2013.
