More than 16,000 Transcarpathian first-graders will go to school on the 1st of September

     This was reported by the Director of the Education, Youth and Sports Department of the Regional State Administration Marianna Klyap during the extended meeting of the department panel. 

In total, on September 1, more than 153,000 students will begin academic year in 674 schools. As for pre-school education, as of July 1, the coverage of children from 3 to 6 (7) years old with all forms of pre-school education in the region was 79%, and as for children of five years of age – 100% were covered.

During the meeting, they awarded the winners of national competitions and competition of research papers of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Students who won first place received 4,000 UAH, teachers who prepared them – 8,000 UAH. For the second place they received 3,000 UAH and 6000 UAH, respectively. For the third place – 4,000 UAH and 2,000 UAH. 

Also at the event, they handed school bus keys to representatives of six Transcarpathian schools. Brand new buses will go to Irshava, Mukachevo, Tyachiv, Khust and Uzhgorod districts.
