According to the Center for influenza and acute respiratory viral infections of the "Central Sanitary and Epidemiological Station of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine", in the epidemic season 2013 – 2014, the circulation of influenza viruses type A, B and parainfluenza virus with predominance of type A is expected. This is stated on the official site of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological service of Transcarpathia.
In the epidemic season 2013 – 2014, WHO recommends to use in the Northern Hemisphere the vaccines providing immunity against the following influenza strains that likely will have circulation on the territory of Ukraine:
– A/California/7/2009 (H1N1) – similar to pdm09;
– A / H3N2/Victoria/361/2011b;
– B/Massachusetts/2/2012.
