Pedestrian zone on Petofi square has been expanded even more (PHOTOS)

Today, the space for pedestrian zone on Petofi square has been expanded: concrete pots with flowers have been moved even further to the roadway. The decision to limit the vehicle passage near the pedestrian bridge, was adopted at the end of April.

At the press conference, the Mayor Victor Pogorelov noted that this move brings the look of this corner of the city closer to the long-awaited – when one of the central squares of the city would be comfortable for pedestrians.

And it did become more comfortable: quieter and calmer. But Uzhgorod moms said that they were still afraid to leave kids there by themselves, "Who knows, there are some drivers that disregard all laws, and still drive there, especially at night," – a young mother says.

Therefore, we hope that drivers will give pedestrians the allotted space without problems.
