Aug. 13, in the "Uzhgorod" gallery, the exhibition of graphics and paintings by a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Valeriy Kozub opened. The 28-year-old artist comes from Perechyn district. He graduated from Uzhgorod College of Arts and later – the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (studio of Professor Andriy Chebykin). The exhibition "The language of symbols", which the author has brought to us from Kyiv, consists of the works made in different techniques: etching, engraving, dry brush… The head of the graphics section of Transcarpathia Odarka Dolhosh-Sopko said that although Valery Kozub studies and teaches in the capital, he has not forgotten his native land. The works show that he is still in the creative search, but has formed as an artist.
"If he joins our graphics section, it will have a brilliant artist. After all, a very few people in our Transcarpathia do etchings," – Mrs. Odarka said.
Valeriy Kozub himself said that one graphic work takes two to four months. "A lot of it is a technical process (about 50%), and the rest is the ideological content, scheme design and my inner experience." The subject of his works, as already mentioned before, is deep and not shallow. He was born in a religious family, which is why creative works of Valeriy Kozub often have religious themes. He also enjoys reading classics of Ukrainian literature which enriches his inner world and helps him find new themes for his next works.
So, the exhibition of graphics and painting by Valeriy Kozub can be seen in the "Uzhgorod" gallery only until August 22. Admission is free.
