Toilet paper, raw meat and old photographs in the “Temporality” of Transcarpathian artists

"Temporality" is the exhibition of Transcarpathian creative elite in the "Corridor" gallery.

This exhibition of Transcarpathian artists is held in Uzhgorod every three months. The artist Petro Ryaska is the curator of the exhibition, who brought together 13 people for a joint project, which makes us think about the transience of time.

They showed the audience the works that can be exhibited in this way only once.

Transcarpathian artist Vladislav Gabda the son of a famous painter Vasyl Gabda, for example, prersented the audience a stand with approximately 80 old photographs of his relatives and friends.   On the photographs one can see Vladislav Gabda both as a very young man and as an adult.

Pavlo Kovacs presented the installed object of Soviet origin, claiming that "The form is always the same – it is the energy field of the Matter." Andriy Stehura portrayed his temporality on the usual roll of toilet paper, where with the colored letters cut from a magazine, he wrote "I will not be." 

Marsel Onysko left a piece of paper with the caption: "Temporarily in Hungary."

Ruslan Tremba used bread and acrylics and created an object (small doll made of white bread), entitled "My body is a temporary carrier."

Natalia Shevchenko created a "Cowl" with photos and scarf. Vadim Harabaruk presented the object "Temporality forever."  Anatoly Tatarenko "treated" visitors with ice cream that was running down the wall in front of the spectators.  Bella Logacheva showed a "one-off" suprematism in the form of disposable utensils, napkins, and boxes of matches, combined with her own creativity.

There were other equally interesting authors, such as: Ilko Slav with his "Spase and Society" Vasyl Pal with "Eyes temporarily abandoned", Gabriel Buletsa, claiming that it was time to change your own appearance with the help of biotechnology and changes of ethical and aesthetic standards, and other authors whose works successfully complemented

the exhibition titled "Temporality."

At the exhibition, for example, we were able to observe the process of creating an object that is currently exhibited at the entrance of the "Corridor" on the second floor of the gallery.

Volodymyr Topiy came from Lviv to show his performance (which stays as an object). For that, he took raw meat, red wine, toy soldiers, a scythe, a rug and some more stuff. And also, the audience’s time, about 10 minutes.

Petro Ryska as the curator told us that he had not known what the artists would present at this exhibition. Some authors presented large objects – Vadim Harabaruk, Pavlo Kovacs, Vladislav Gabda, Gabriel Buletsa etc. Other – smaller ones, but no less interesting," – he says. Petro Ryska noted that the "Corridor" gallery itself is very active, so they needed to arrange the works so that there would be some space left: "The gallery is like a living person who participates in this object," – the curator says.   The atmosphere in the "Corridor" is pleasant, quiet and… a little cool.
