The festival "Hutsul bryndzya" was launched by a local community of Kvasy village. It is a "calling card" of Rakhiv district and one of the brightest pages of its cultural and artistic life, the Voice of the Carpathians informs.
Hutsul bryndzya is the holiday of shepherds returning home from the valleys. Every year, in April, they go with their cattle high to the mountains to the wide meadows, where they stay until the beginning of September. In the mountains, they look after cattle, milk sheep and make cheese, brynza, vurda. Having worked all summer in the mountains, sheep farmers return home and organize a big party – the festival "Hutsul bryndzya" which will traditionally be held for the 14th time in Rakhiv on the 7-8 of September, 2013.

September 7, Saturday
10.00 – 16.00 – Arrival of guests and participants;
11.00 – 18.00 – Rakhiv district artists exhibition (the hall of the district state administration)
16.00 – The meeting of the district state administration and the district council representatives with official delegations
September 8, Sunday
8.00-12.00 – Deployment of exhibition displays and the fair of sheep breeding products, Burkut str., the amphitheater "Burkut";
11.30-12.15 – Festive procession from Bohdan Khmelnytsky street to the amphitheater "Burkut";
12.15-12.45 – The opening of the Festival-Fair "Hutsul bryndzya", setting of the Polonyna campfire;
12.45-14.00 – Review of exhibition displays and sheep breeding product fair, contests for the best trembita player, piper, kolomyika singers, Hutsul dishes cooking competition;
14.00-17.00 – The gala concert of the festival;
17.00-24.00 – Concerts and entertainment, mass celebrations, fireworks.
