Out of 3.2 million hryvnias of Transcarpathian environmental tax, local budgets received 1.5 million

7,898 businesses in the region are environmental tax payers. For six months of this year, they have paid 500,000 UAH more than in the same period in the last year. Out of these funds, local budgets received more than 1.5 million hryvnias. The state treasury has received more than 1.7 million hryvnias, which is almost 1 million more than last year’s figures for the same period. 

Recall that Section VIII of the Tax Code of Ukraine provides for payment of environmental tax by entities emitting pollutants into the air from stationary or mobile sources, discharging pollutants directly into water bodies and carrying out other processes related to environmental damage.

The tax rate depends on the type of pollutants that are released into the environment, their amount and type of hazard – the Main Office of the Ministry of Income in Transcarpathian region reported.
