Svyshcho: Agricultural sector is one of the main areas of development for our region

One of the farms in Mukachevo district, namely Rakoshyno branch of JV "Shevchenko", has been operating in Rakoshyno since 2004 and sells vegetables to the group of companies "Veres". The Acting Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Igor Svyshcho visited the company.

– When we with our Kyiv colleagues first came to this place and saw the bushes that were here, Kyivites did not believe that you can do something about it and start a business here – the company director Yosyp Pylypanynets says.

However, now the farm occupies 200 hectares and has almost no comparisons in the entire region. Here in the open field (and this feature distinguishes it from other farms that specialize in greenhouse vegetables) they grow cucumbers, hot peppers, garlic, horseradish, and this year, as an experiment, they planted beets. On average, on one hectare of field they harvest 202 quintals, which, as noted by farmers, is a very good figure. Most vegetables are supplied to the canneries. In addition, they are distributed for free to nearby monasteries and orphanages.

There are currently 270 people working at the farm.   The average salary of employees is 2,300 UAH.

– It is nice to see that now in Transcarpathian region such businesses can flourish – the Acting Head of the Regional Administration Igor Svyshcho said. – Agricultural sector is currently one of the main focuses of development for our region. There is a need to create proper conditions for the development of rural areas, we must make every effort to make the work of such farms as simple and productive as possible.
