In Transcarpathia, berries and mushrooms picking will be restricted

The regional administration developed a draft resolution of the Governor "On the limits for special use of natural plant resources of local importance and limits for harvesting of medicinal plants in 2013." The document was developed based on government documents: the "Procedure for harvesting of minor forest materials and minor forest uses in Ukraine" and government regulations "On addressing the issues of special forest resources use."

The resolution proposes to restrict harvesting of blueberries – to 2003 tons, blackberries – to 280 tons, raspberry – to 394 tons, and mashrooms – to 2236 tons.   The largest limits are in Mizhhirya district – here, the state-owned enterprise "Mizhhirya forestry" and the branch of the "Mizhhirya forest agricultural enterprise" received limits for 410 tons of blueberries, 60 tons of blackberries and 620 tons of mushrooms. The resolution shall enter into force after the approval of the Main Department of Justice in Transcarpathian region.
