On June 24, the Holy Trinity Church, which is located in the Bozdosh park in Uzhgorod, was consecrated. The festive service and the solemn consecration of the church gathered hundreds of faithfuls.
Pentecost is one of the major Christian holidays. On this day, one of the most special and beautiful services of the year is held in Orthodox churches.
Holy Trinity is popularly often called Green Sunday. Holy Trinity is celebrated by Orthodox Church on the 50th day after Easter.
On Trinity, Orthodox churches are decorated with fresh herbs, and faithfuls come to prayer with tree branches and bunches of wild herbs and flowers. The Church believes that green branch is a symbol of renewed spring and at the same time, a symbol of renewal of people with the power of the Holy Spirit. In honor of this holiday, priests wear green vestments for service, and churches are decorated with light green fabrics and ribbons. On Trinity, as well as on Christmas, Candlemas and Easter, candles are made and consecrated in the church. Going to church, believers joyfully congratulate each other on the holiday.
