On Monday, June 17, at the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, there was the official meeting of the delegation from the Netherlands.
SOFT Tulip represents nine large organizations that provide a wide range of services to improve the quality of medical care, exchange of knowledge and organization of trainings.
Foreign experts have arrived in Transcarpathia, to review the work of the specialists of the medical and social rehabilitation center "Way of Life", the Regional Centre for Integrated Rehabilitation of Disabled and Handicapped Children, to study the needs for training of specialized medical institutions staff.
– We conducted the first trainings in 2006 in Lviv. We prepared trainers for boarding schools. The training was based on improving skills of children with severe mental disorders. Over the years, we have seen positive changes in Ukraine. But, of course, we want more. In particular, tomorrow we intend to visit the psycho-neurological institute in the village of Turya Remety. We know that the situation there is quite complicated. We can train nurses and doctors of the institution for better patient care. But it’s up to you to ensure proper conditions for patients – Eric Blumkolk, the Director of the "SOFT Tulip" foundation said.
Mykhailo Popovich, the deputy head of the regional state administration, said that they "knew" about the situation in Perechyn district.
– This year, 800,000 UAH from the budget has been allocated for this institution, and sponsors’ contributions have also been received. Now the patients building is being renovated, the entry to the institution has been fixed up. Recently, a new director has been appointed. I think, we can expect good changes in this institution by the end of the year.
In 2012, they conducted two training sessions with the staff of the neuropsychiatric hospital in the village of Turya Remeta. In March 2013, there will be the 3rd session of trainings. The next training is scheduled for autumn 2013.
