“Berlybash banosh” will take place whatever the weather

May 26, in the village of Kostylivka (formerly Berlybash) in Rakhiv district the traditional gastronomic festival "Berlybash banosh" will be held.

According to the Tourinfocenter Transcarpathia, the festival program includes setting up of the campfire, cooking contest for the best banosh, exhibition of folk artists "Kostylivka has talents," Hutsul food and beverage tasting, performances of creative groups of the district, Hutsul contests and entertainment.

All guests of the festival apart from traditional brynza cheese and vurda, will be able to taste the dishes of potatoes with bacon, pies, homemade sausage, kremzlyks, Kostylivka-style dumplings, stuffed cabbage and even "Berlybash cognac" – a strong drink, infused with a variety of mountain herbs. By the way, banosh will be cooked by residents of 15 streets of the village. As the head of the village Olga Smetaniuk told in a telephone conversation, the festival will take place whatever the weather.
