An apartment in Ukraine costs 94 salaries

One can earn for an apartment in the Donbas twice as fast as in Kyiv or Odessa region. Thus, in Luhansk region one has to save salary for 4.5 years, while in Odessa region one has to save for an apartment for 10 years, and in the Kyiv region – for almost 11 years. As for Transcarpathia, in our region, in order to become owner of a one-bedroom apartment one will have to save for 6.5 years.

The largest number of apartments for sale is in Kyiv region – 113.5 thousand, accounting for 32.4% of all proposals. Odessa region with 54.2 thousand (15.5%) apartments for sale is on the second place. Donetsk region with 50.9 thousand (14.5%) apartments is on the third place. The smallest number of apartments for sale are in Ternopil (550), Transcarpathian (1500) and Volyn (1950) regions. This is reported by analysts of the personal ads site Slando, having studied offers for apartments for sale across Ukraine.

The cheapest apartments in Ukraine are sold in Kirovohrad, Luhansk and Sumy regions. And the most expensive ones – in Kyiv, Odessa and Lviv regions. But if you compare the cost of apartments and the average salary in the region, the shortest time to save money for a one-bedroom apartment is in Luhansk (55 salaries), Kirovohrad (64 salaries) and Zaporozhzhya (65 salaries) regions. Overall, a ​​35 square meters apartment in Ukraine costs 94 average salaries.
For comparison, in Western Europe, one square meter of housing is equal to the average salary.In Ukraine, this figure is almost three times higher. Thus, Ukrainians, in order to save for their own home, need to work three times more than the residents of Western countries.
