A new unit in the regional administration has been established – the Internal Audit Department of RSA. The appropriate order was signed by the Governor on April 22. According to the provisions, the Department shall be subject to the Governor and shall exercise its powers and functions under his direct supervision. The head of the Internal Audit Department shall be appointed and dismissed by the Governor.
The Department will have the right to carry out an internal audit of the Regional State Administration, its departments, district state administrations. The Department shall also have the authority to examine the legality and effective use of budget funds by the head of the Regional State Administration, heads of departments, heads of district state administrations.
The Department shall have the right to use information databases of executive power bodies and have full and unrestricted access to documents, including classified information. Also, the Department employees shall have the right to carry out questionnaires, surveys and interviews with the staff of the Regional State Administration and its structural unit.
