Tasteless, and also harmful. The church urges people to give up plastic wreaths and flowers

On the eve of Easter people who want to pay respect to deceased relatives and friends bring tons of colorful plastic to a cemetery. However, usually they do not think that it is not only tasteless and illogical, but also very harmful to the environment, dangerous to health and life.

Because after cleaning the cemetery this plastic is burned. During this harmful substances are emitted in the environment, including dioxins, which have carcinogenic effect and thus cause cancer disease.

Given all this, the Kiev-Galician Office of the High Church Archdiocese calls to abandon the harmful practice of decorating graves of deceased with plastic flowers and wreaths.
