Uzhgorod City Prosecutor found out about the misappropriation of the 0.07 hectares land plot on Ukrainska street (Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, punishable by a fine up to fifty free minimum incomes, or community work for up to two hundred forty hours, or corrective labor for up to two years, or imprisonment for up to three years).
Prosecutor’s inspection revealed that this land had been acquired on the basis of an oral contract of sale between two individuals. The resident of Uzhgorod decided to grant her neighbor the land that did not belong to her but to the city.
The court recognized the right of ownership for this land. However, the prosecutor’s office of Uzhgorod made an appeal against the court’s decision. The Court of Appeal upheld the appeal, and the land plot was returned to the ownership of Uzhgorod.
Currently, the person is criminally prosecuted for fraud.
