Transcarpathian rescuers urge drivers not to leave the region within nearest days unless absolutely necessary. The reason is a difficult hydrometeorological situation (snow on roads and ice on highways), which is expected in the west of Ukraine, and eastern Europe.
Those who will have to take a risk to drive in the snow drifts under heavy wind are advised to ensure that their cars are equipped with anti-slip chains, snow shovels, hooks and ropes for towing.
If you are going for long distances, you should have an adequate supply of fuel to ensure your safety in case of getting into the snow jam, rescuers advise on the official website of the Transcarpathian office of the State Emergencies Service.
