Uzhgorod may have new street lights?

According to the Deputy Mayor, the curator of communal issues Vitaly Semal, the tender for maintenance of street lighting and traffic lights objects in Uzhgorod in 2013 was won by two organizations: the Private Enterprise "Promtekhobladnannya" and the city KSHEP. Thus, there appeared the need to liquidate ME "Uzh-Svitlo" as ineffective and not eligible for funding.

The deputies supported the draft decision and approved the transfer of property to the Department of Municipal Economy.

Also, representatives of local authorities informed that there is a tentative agreement with the members of the Verkhovna Rada on the financing of the street lighting reconstruction program (the same that was approved quite a long time ago, but has not been implemented) from the state budget. The Mayor commented to uzhgorod.in, that he had received a phone call from Vasyl Kovacs (the CEO of "Zakrapattyaoblenerho" and now an MP) and Victor Pogorelov gave him the project for update of street lighting and Kovacs promised to help.

The amount of funding for the program is 25 million hryvnias. "We have allocated from the budget one million for this program. If we receive at least 3-4 million from the state budget, the lighting in the city will be significantly improved" – Pogorelov said.
