Uzhgorod children with disabilities will be taken to school by a Japanese robot (PHOTOS)

On Thursday, February 28, at 11.00 in Uzhgorod, at the school № 20 (Silvay st., 3) there will be the official take over of the special robotic lift (made in Japan) for children’s wheelchairs which will help children with disabilities to easier move around in modern Ukrainian environment.

 Within the event there will be a press conference, during which modern innovations will be explained in detail by Yaroslav Shafar, representative of Rotary Foundation in Ukraine, Viktor Kostiv, President of Rotary Club Uzhgorod-Scala, Oleg Kirilenko, Director of the Medical and Social Rehabilitation Center "Way of Life", Marian Komarnicki, Director of the School № 20.

Specialists will also demonstrate to participants how the Japanese robot works.

Today, Yaroslav Shafar on his page in Facebook has posted photos of the robot. "In Uzhgorod school number 20, children with special needs are enrolled, but the staircases are not adapted to wheelchairs. So, social workers have to carry children and wheelchairs in their hands. We hope that the aid will be substancial and appropriate" – Mr. Shafar added.
