According to the Religious Information Service of Ukraine, this was reported by the director of the Vatican Television, Monsignor Edoardo Maria Vigano. He says that the departure of Benedict XVI to Castel Gandolfo will be a historic moment.
On the day of the abdication of Pope Benedict XVI, February 28, about his every move will be recorded on cameras of the Vatican television center to keep the memories of this historic day for posterity.
Italian Radio and Television (RAI) plans to broadcast the event to all continents. Vatican Television will use 26 television cameras to monitor the departure of the Pope and the election of the next Pope.
Television cameras will be shooting in the Apostolic Palace until 17 pm local time, when the pontiff gets in the helicopter that will take him to Castel Gandolfo. The resignation will take effect within three hours after that.
