The Party of Regions proposes to grant the Supreme Administrative Court the right to deprive deputies of the mandate for blocking the rostrum. The relevant bill was introduced to the Parliament by the Party of Regions member Volodymyr Oliynyk, reported the press service of the party. Deputies from the "Udar" party, including a Transcarpathian Valery Patskan, are blocking the work of the Verkhovna Rada, demanding mandatory personal vote.
"In accordance with Art. 5 of the Constitution the only source of power is the people, and they elect the deputies, but the deputies did not consult with the people when they wrote the Constitution …. And in general, the people could not intervene in the process of formation," – the deputy said. Thus, he said, the deputies resolved only the relationship between themselves and the people.
I propose to authorize the head of the Verkhovna Rada in such cases (absenteeism, illegal voting, blocking of the presidium) to go to court, either personally, or at the request of 226 deputies, or as the third option – if there is a signed request of 10% of voters from the list by a constituency, according to the procedure established by law" – Oliynyk explained. Such procedure applies to deputies of local authorities, they can introduce it for deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, the deputy added.
