Some owners of apartments with the residential area of over 120 square meters order alterations to avoid paying the property tax. This was stated by the architect Anna Iskierdo.
"Alterations are mostly ordered by owners of several apartments, because, according to the Tax Code, tax exemption applies only to one object, and the second apartment is subject to taxation. So, many people want to fool the law and reduce payments by repair of apartments, which can reduce the living space" – the architect said.
For example, they can increase kitchen or hallway at the expense of the living room.
The expert noted that so far we can not talk about massive alterations of apartments due to the tax, but in the future the number of orders for this reason may rise.
"At the same time, customers who plan to build large mansions with the living area of over 500 square meters are not worried about tax innovations. According to them, tax payments will not affect the family welfare", – the expert concluded.
