February 16, at 12.15 in Mukachevo, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of Hungary Nemeth Zsolt and the chairman of Mukachevo City Council Lendel Zoltan will open a memorial plaque of Raoul Wallenberg.
The Swedish diplomat, who during the Holocaust saved the lives of thousands of Hungarian Jews, later became a victim of another totalitarian regime and died in the Soviet Union under still unknown circumstances. The author of the plaque is the Uzhgorod sculptor Mykhailo Kolodko.
Raoul Wallenberg’s memorial plaque was made in cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary and Mukachevo.
The event will take place at Raoul Wallenberg st., 2.
