The first in Ukraine monument to a skiing tourist was placed near "Bukovel" ski resort, in the village of Yablunytsya. Its author believes that fans of skiing are worthy of such honor for their courage and devotion.
The six-foot jock in the appropriate outfit has already won the interest of tourists – they are constantly taking pictures near him. The figure has no prototype, but it is dedicated to everyone who goes to Carpathians to ski.
"I think that skiers deserve a monument. Because it is one of the sports that is very appreciated in the world. In addition, it is a popular entertainment," – the commssioner of the monument Bogdan Stefurak said.
