Today, January 24, members of the expert committee on licensing of higher education institutions reviewed several proposals for opening of new specialties. In particular, representatives of UzhNU proposed to train specialists in the field of "Czech language and literature" on the basis of the Philological Faculty
Given that the university already has departments of Slovak, Hungarian and Romanian philology and the appropriate human resources, the expert committee supported the proposal to open this specialty.
Recall that at the end of last year, the head of Transcarpathia Oleksandr Ledyda by his order created the expert committee on licensing of higher education institutions. The main task of the committee is to develop proposals to the head of the regional administration regarding the opening of new specialties in higher education area.
The committee includes representatives of the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the regional administration, members of the regional council, council chairmen of higher education institutions, representatives of employers.
The Committee considers human resources, logistics of educational institutons, the demand for professions in the region, the employment prospects of future graduates.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the rationale for the opening of the specialty "Museology and protection of historical and cultural monuments" at the Mukachevo State University.
Fedir Vashchuk said that UzhNU also intends to train specialists in museum business. However, the university has not yet prepared a proper concept. Therefore, the issue of the expediency of opening the specialty "Museology and protection of historical and cultural monuments" was postponed until the next meeting.
The expert commitee, having the concepts from both universities, having assessed human resources, will determine the feasibility of opening the specialty in a particular educational institution.
