The Wikimedia Foundation has officially launched a new Wikivoyage project – free interactive travel guide for all the world that can be edited by anyone who has access to the Internet.
So far, Wikivoyage is available in nine languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish and Russian, and has about 50,000 articles. Currently the information about the tourism potential of Transcarpathia is scarce. However, the draft version in Ukrainian language is being developed in the Wikimedia Incubator and will be activated as soon as the number of articles reaches one thousand.
Executive director of the Ukrainian branch of the Wikimedia Foundation – NGO "Wikimedia Ukraine" Yuri Perohanych urges internet users to join the development of the Ukrainian version of the project in order to promote the tourist attractiveness of their cities, towns and villages, to tell about their historical, cultural and natural attractions, other interesting places for travelers.
