In December, only 5 persons were caught on illegal selling of Christmas trees

From 5 to 31 of December 2012, the State Ecological Inspectorate in Transcarpathian region were conducting the annual operation "Christmas tree."
During the operation state inspectors conducted 21 checks. They executed protocols on administrative violations against 5 people who violated the procedure for the sale of Christmas trees. Coniferous trees were confiscated and deposited in forestry enterprises, the protocols were submitted to district courts.
In order to monitor compliance with the standards and limits of harvesting Christmas trees, 10 forestry enterprises of the region were inspected. As a result of the measures taken, 14 people were fined a total of 1,190 UAH for illegal felling. State inspectors estimated the amount of the losses caused by felled trees as equal to 2,864 UAH. Fines and losses were voluntarily paid in full. When inspecting the State Enterprise "Brustury SFHE", the unauthorized felling of conifer plantations totaling in 12,225 UAH was detected. The materials were sent to Tyachiv district police department to establish the perpetrators.
