"Like being in hell!" – the visitors often jokingly describe the famous bathing in Lumshory vats. And immediately add, but the sensations are the opposite!
It looks really interesting: a company of people are boiling in a huge metal vat just on an open fire. Moreover, it all happens outdoors – the bathing is the most popular in cold season and often persists even during the snowfall. The temperature difference (and the temperature in the vat often reaches 40 degrees!) adds to the experience. And not to mention the chilly Turitsya river: diving into it after the hot vat is not for the faint of heart. But it’s worth it!
Lumshory is a village in Perechyn district – famous for special bathing in vats. The history of local waters dates back to the beginning of the XVII century. People came here to cure the problems of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system in the local hydrogen sulphide. Now it is rather a tourist attraction, but local people insist that it is beneficial for bones, joints, blood vessels, and nerves. Anyway, all agree that it’s a wonderful recreation: after a session in vats one feels completely differently. As if indeed these "infernal" Lumshory have washed away all the excess and given piece.
It is such exotica that tourists arrive here for. Lumshory lately are in constant development – in the outback of Perechyn district new recreational facilities appear, new vats are installed for the main local attraction – bathing in almost "hellish" environment, but with "heavenly" sensations …
