Prosecutors caught 157 officials on budget dealings

During the last year the regional prosecutor’s office took a series of measures aimed at enhancing the activity in the budget sector.

 Last year the regional prosecutor’s office instituted 10 criminal cases, including 4 over the detected irregularities in public procurement, considered 105 appeals with subsequent taking of measures to eliminate violations, sustained 69 protests.

Charges were brought against 157 officials of state and local governments, including 26 officials of controlling authorities, 470,000 UAH were refunded.

According to the results of the prosecutors’ activity, the most common violations of fiscal discipline in the region are: undue payment for alleged work performed or services rendered, unlawful expenditure of financial resources, misappropriation of funds during public procurement – reported the press service of the Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region.
