The traffic police seriously warns

The traffic police remind that the allowable norm of alcohol in the driver’s blood is 0.2 ppm.

Traffic policeman can confirm or refute suspicion of drunk driving using breathalyzer "Drager".  Such a procedure should be attended by two witnesses, informs the press service of the Kyiv traffic police. However, if the driver refuses to take this test, he or she can be checked by a doctor.

The refusal to undergo the check leads to the execution of the protocol in the presence of the same two witnesses, and, according to police, is treated as the admission of a violation.

In accordance with the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences, drunk driving is punished with: a fine of 2550 to 3400 UAH, deprivation of the right to drive for a period of 1-2 years, community service for 40-50 hours or administrative arrest for a period of 7 to 10 days.

A repeated violation may result in deprivation of the right to drive for 2-3 years, with a compensated confiscation of the vehicle, 50-60 hours of community service or 10-15 days in jail.

Those who commit the violation for the third time are punished with deprivation of the right to drive for 10 years with compensated confiscation of the vehicle.
