A resident of Perechyn did not want to give law enforcement officers unregistered weapons

A curious case recently occurred in a village of Perechyn district. The man possessed a hunting rifle, because he liked to hunt, and a hunter without a rifle is like a barber without scissors. But he did not care about documents and systematically violated the rules for re-registration of the weapons.
 
In March this year, the police brought him to adminstrative responsibility under Art. 192 of the CAO "Violation of terms for registration (re-registration) of firearms, cold steel weapons or air guns." But it has not taught the rifle owner anything and he never renewed the permit. So the police had to take action in accrodance with the law and seize the weapon until the man renew the permit for weapons storage.
In the presence of witnesses the police told the man about the violation that he committed and wanted to seize the weapons. However he instantly snatched the rifle from the safe, where it was kept, and defiantly told the policemen that they would take only half of the rifle. He ran outside and began to damage the barrel of the rifle with a hammer, and then took the ax and chopped wooden parts of the rifle, then damaged all the fine details. Having turned the rifle in a bunch of metal and wood, the man calmed down and gave it to law enforcement officers – informed Myroslav Pekar, Perechyn district police department.
