The railway worker, responsible for collision of the train cars at Uzhgorod station, has been convicted

As previously reported by the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region, on April 16, 2012, train former of Uzhgorod station K., being intoxicated, caused the collision of 20 cars of the train "Uzhgorod-Kyiv" with 7 passenger cars, which at that time were parked. 
As a result of the collision five conductors received bodily injuries, and state territorial branches "South-Western Railway" and "Lviv Railway" suffered material damage.
Transcarpathian prosecution for supervision over the observance of laws in the field of transport provided proper legal qualification of citizen K.’s actions and public prosecution in the case. Thus, Nov. 23, 2012 Uzhgorod City Court convicted citizen K. under Art. 276, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the safety rules and rules of operation of the railway transport by a railway transport employee, which caused a danger to human life and other grave consequences) and sentenced him to 1 year imprisonment. According to Transcarpathian prosecutor to oversee the observance of laws in the field of transport Igor Syekhin, citizen K. was released from serving a sentence imposed pursuant to Art. 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, if he does not commit a new offense within one year probation – informed the press service of the Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region.
