And on Monday the court will consider his appeal against the decision on his detention.
Pavlo Nahirny – the culprit of the tragic accident that occurred Nov. 19 on the bypass road near the Transcarpathian district center Khust – yesterday was sent for examination to Lviv. This was informed by the husband and father of the victims and injured in the accident Victor Pryhara.
The information was confirmed by the assistant chief of public relations department of Khust City Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region Serhiy Shimon: "Yes, yesterday Pavlo Nahirny was sent from Khust to Lviv to undergo inpatient forensic psychiatric examination. Currently he is being there in custody."
As we found out on Monday, December 10, 2012, in Uzhgorod, in the Transcarpathian Regional Court of Appeal there was the hearing on the appeal of Pavlo Nahirny against the decision of Khust District Court. Pavlo Nahirny believes that the court decided to impose on him an unnecessarily strict precautionary measure – detention.
At 9.30 near the court building community activists gathered an action, which aimed to prevent the release of P. Nahirny.
According to the certificate issued in the Transcarpathian regional psychiatric hospital, where the suspect P.Nahirny came to immediately after committing the accident, he supposedly has stress with suicidal tendency. The suspect himself claimed that he did not remember how he had left the scene and why he had found himself in a psychiatric hospital. As a result, instead of taking the guilty party to the prison cell, his doctors after examination, again took him to the Transcarpathian regional psychiatric hospital, where he remained until December 1 under the "supervision" of 3 policemen.
The husband and father of the victims and injured in the accident Victor Pryhara in an interview said that he would apply for an independent psychiatric examination because, in his opinion, P.Nahirny should be not in a hospital ward, but in a real prison cell.
As you know, on the bypass road near Khust P.Nahirny on his SUV drove into the oncoming lane and rammed a passenger car with a family. Now two young children injured in an accident will undergo a series of operations, and a 32-year-old woman and her seven-year old daughter died.
