Transcarpathians are called to make children’s dreams true and thus to become … a Santa Claus. The charitable event, initiated in Ukraine by the presenter and community activist Slava Frolova, was supported in Transcarpathia. The goal is to realize the dreams of children who have no one to rely on except benefactors.
The "target audience" in our region are the children of the regional shelter for minors in Batyovo. This is the place for children who are in difficult life circumstances: were found on the street, removed from dysfunctional families, etc., and in the institution they wait to have their fate decided – either the return to the family, or moving to a guardian or a boarding school. And the kids in the shelter, of course, also await gifts for the holidays – St. Nicholas Day, Christmas and New Year. That is what the project "Become a Santa Claus" is aimed to.
Concerned Uzhgorod residents today announced the launch of the project and created a community in the social network Facebook. The first 5 letters from the children where they write about their wishes for the holidays are posted there. Mostly they want candy, fruit, toys, clothes and … walkmen, and in each letter they wish everyone good health and holidays. You can mark each letter and volunteer to fulfill the wish described in it, and then send gifts to organizers of the event who will take them to the shelter along with a real Santa Claus and festive mood.
Three letters from kids were "taken" as early as within the first hour of the event. Two of the published messages are still waiting for their Santa Clauses – it can be you, for it is so easy to fulfill childhood dream. The organizers of the project in Transcarpathia believe that by giving heart warmth along with the New Year gift, each of the participants will certainly become happier themselves.
